Beginning Copperplate Script

Description

This class is an in-depth study of the minuscules and majuscules in the Copperplate script. A true Copperplate bootcamp! You will learn the foundational strokes, how to combine those properly to create each letter, and how to combine the letters to make words and sentences. You will also learn how to critique your own work, learn what to look for in each letterform, and learn my preferred way to practice. This is a great workshop not only for beginners, but also for those who want to take their Copperplate script to the next level. You should have all of your Copperplate questions answered after this thorough study!

Supplies

• Pen holder – oblique or straight
• Nib – I like hunt 101 and hunt 22b
• Ink – walnut or moon palace sumi
• Paper – Canson marker paper
• Rinse water
• Paper towels

I’m hoping that everyone can use the supplies they already have. The only thing they might have to order is the paper. It’s just the very basics.
